With reference to Mr. Feam's letter (53696/41) of May 22 transmitting a copy of a despatch from the Governor of Hong Kong forwarding for the signification of His Majesty's pleasure the Medical Registration Amendment Ordinance, 1941, of the Colony, I am directed by the President of the Council to say that the matter had, in accordance with the suggestion made by the Department, been reserved in the normal course for consideration by the Executive Committee at their next meeting on November 24.

The President understands, however, that the Department now desire to return an answer to the Governor without further delay; and he therefore feels it proper to say that a careful perusal of the Ordinance does not suggest to him that the Committee would desire to make any representations in favour of the exercise of His Majesty's power of disallowance in respect of it.

I am

Sir,

Your obedient Servant,

The Under-Secretary of State,

Colonial Office,

London, S.W.1.

Michaal Haraltine

Registrar.
